Gus/Growltiger
Asparagus, or Gus for short, loves to tell of the days when he was a famous actor onstage. Now he is old and his paws tremble. At the Jellicle Ball he tells the Jellicles about the time he portrayed Growltiger, the ruthless pirate cat. Gus suddenly throws off his cloak and there stands Growltiger ready to act his famous scene. Jellylorum becomes Griddlebone, the Queen that is very close to him. Gus has two costumes. One is a thin brown coat for his role as Gus. The other is a baggy orange and black pirate costume. Gus has no apparent relations.
