My Visit to Cumberland Island November 1997
With only about 30 full time residents and perhaps another 30 part timers, this road sees very little traffic. Unless you are a property owner, you can not bring a vehicle onto the island, so tourist travel by bike or foot. There are no gas stations, stores, one bed and breakfast which has a dining room for guests only. There is a campground within walking distance of the ferry landing and a primitive site for those willing to hike several miles.
